We are seeking a skilled Welder Level 2 to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in welding techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to fabricate and repair metal components to precise specifications.
Responsibilities:
o Assemble parts using hand tools, welding equipment, and other machinery.
o Fabricate new parts and repair existing components for trucks, trailers, and shop equipment.
o Utilize various welding techniques (SMAW, TIG, FCAW, MIG) to join metals like aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
o Employ oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting techniques.
o Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals to understand project requirements.
o Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions using hand tools and power equipment.
o Ensure finished work adheres to blueprint tolerances and quality standards.
o Set up, maintain, and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
o Apply welding techniques to join metal components, considering factors like metallurgy and material properties.
o Inspect and test welds to ensure compliance with AWS standards and other relevant regulations.
o Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
o Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
o Source materials for projects.
o Make informed decisions regarding component selection and repair methods.
o Perform tire repairs as needed.
Qualifications:
o Proficiency in SMAW, TIG, FCAW, and MIG welding techniques.
o Experience with oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting.
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
o Knowledge of metallurgy and material properties.
o Skill in using hand tools and power equipment.
o Ability to lift upwards of 50 pounds.
o Prolonged standing, sitting, squatting, and bending.
o Valid driver’s license.
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o Welding certifications (AWS or similar) preferred.
o Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Spanish speaker preferred
